Pineapple is considered another wonder fruit. It contains lots of vitamins and minerals and is also very tasty, too. It grows generously under a tropical climate. It can be grown under different conditions considering that you keep the amount of frost and chilly winds it is exposed to in check. If you are one of those who live under a cold climate, you may start learning how to grow pineapple indoors. It is possible. Just don’t expect that you get the same kind that you can get from tropical countries such as Hawaii.

Step 1: Buy a pineapple. You may obtain yours from the supermarket or a fruit stand. Strip the fruit, enjoy it, and leave the crown. The crown is from where you will start growing your plant from.

Step 2:
Work your soil. Make sure that it is moist yet it does not retain water for a period of time. Put as much fertilizer as you need to keep it healthy and suitable to grow your pineapple into.

Step 3: Dig a hole from your soil and put the pineapple top, leaving the crown exposed. Once the crown is in place, water it and fertilize it regularly. You need to feed your pineapple with water once a week and with fertilizer every two months.

Step 4: Under tropical conditions, you need to wait about 20 months for your plant to produce a delectable fruit. Your plant may take that long or a longer period of time.

Step 5:
You will know your pineapple fruit is ready when you have waited at least four months after you see a flower sprout. You can also tell that your pineapple is rip if you see that its shell has that rich, gold color. The color change starts at the bottom and moves upwards as it continuously ripens.

Here are some important things that you must remember along with learning how to grow pineapples:

* Pineapples taste better when it is allowed to ripen on the plant and not on the shelves. Commercially, however, the fruit is taken out of the plant right before it reaches its full potential.

* you may grow your pineapple indoors, especially to protect it against chilly weathers. Make sure, however, that it still enjoys as much sunlight. Do not water it way too much because doing so is likely to kill it. If the water doesn’t drain well from the soil, it will not be healthy for your pineapple.
